ScottsLand includes a variety of literary events showcasing the literary heritage of the Trossachs.
A new Trossachs art and literary trail around Loch Katrine will feature the artists and literary figures that have been inspired by the area and the landscapes and stories that influenced them.
In partnership with the Association of Scottish Literary Studies, a conference, Scott, Tourism and the Trossachs to be held in June, at Balloch will explore the relevance of the poem today and the influence of Scott on the Trossachs. It will throw light on tourism in the Trossachs before 1810 and on the indigenous Gaelic culture of the area, exploring the powerful appeal that links books, places, authors and readers.
An attractive new gift edition of Lady of the Lake in hardback is being produced to celebrate the occasion and will be available from May
In August a debate hosted by the Edinburgh Book Festival will explore Sir Walter Scott’s impact on the country since 1810. To be chaired by Magnus Linklater, with Stuart Kelly and guests.
